Robert Lee Jacobs – Lawyer, State Senator

Robert Lee Jacobs was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1910 to T. Ralph Jacobs and Flora Alma Lee Jacobs. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1928 and attended Dickson College and the Dickinson School of Law.  Graduating with his degree in 1935, Jacobs becomes the youngest person ever elected to serve in the state senate at the age of 25 in the same year.

Jacobs married Ann Blaine Hays in 1936 and they live at 230 South College Street in Carlisle. By 1940, Jacobs registers for World War II and serves in the US Navy as Lieutenant. He was a judge for the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas from 1956 to 1964 and then served on the Pennsylvania Superior Court from 1964 until he retired as president judge in 1979.

After his retirement, he became the Chairman of the Board (1979-1994) and Chief Executive Officer (1979-1989) of Frog Switch & Manufacturing Company in Carlisle. Jacobs passed away in 2006 at the age of 95 in Camp Hill.
